Your India Travel Checklist
Whether you are planning overland travel In India, are just visiting one or two main cities, or will be going with a group tour, there are several things you need to know before you go. It’s wise to start getting everything together a few months before you trip to account of any unforeseen snags or red tape issues. India is not the easiest country to get to or to travel within, so the more prepared you are, the smoother your experience will be.
If you are planning your RTW route to include India, many of the preparations needed for India will be ones that apply to other countries as well. First, read through the immunizations checklist for India and make sure you have received all the required shots. You don’t want to take a chance on getting sick on your trip. Next, you’ll need to work out the red tape of getting a visa and make sure that your passport is ready to go and meets the country’s entry requirements for validity and number of empty pages.
Getting travel insurance for a trip to India is also wise. A trip to India is no small expense and you’ll want to protect your investment, and yourself, should something go wrong. Finally, read up on customs and the culture in India to make sure that you don’t inadvertently offend anyone on your trip. India can be a very different, confusing and at times difficult place to travel, but it can provide with an unforgettable experience like no other country on earth.
